A polka dot bikini is somewhat hard to pull off for a woman. This Ujena polka dot bikini with side ties shows us that the look can work. The polka-dots actually look cute on the bottoms from the rear view of the suit. This suit flatters the bottom nicely! Remember when Tyra Banks rocked the red an white polka dot bikini on the cover of Swimsuit Illustrated?

If you are older be sure to minimize frill styles with polka dots. The polka dot bikini should be rather subdued. Unless you are a teen or young twenties you are going to want something very simply styled without ruffles and so on. The polka dots add enough action. The simpler the polka dot bikini, the better. 10 Tips to a Beautiful Summer Body

To make yourself look slimmer try darker solid colors in the areas that need shape control. In addition, go for brighter colors in your most attractive areas to draw attention to those.
Try mix and match bottoms and tops because this lets you choose a top and bottom that fits the best to each of the top and the bottom. It also lets you get more or less coverage and support depending on where you need it.
For a larger chest look for styles that have a good support band and halter ties rather than spaghetti strap shoulder ties
Avoid all over flow prints and get prints that have solid colors in at least some of the print
Only buy tankinis if you can use the top to wear as sexy clothing since that makes a tankini more sensible and lets you pair it with shorts or a skirt cover up.
