One way to hide big thighs in a swimsuit is to wear one that has a skirt or a skort to it that literally hides the thighs. Sometimes this looks glaringly obvious that you are trying to tent the body and hide under the skirt.

This swimsuit on the other hand, uses a smart approach to hide big thighs. The way it accomplishes this is with the ruffles that bring volume to the top. This swimsuit is fantastic for the woman who is much bigger on bottom than she is on the top. By adding the ruffles and the deep v-neck this design balances out this ladies bigger waist, hips and thighs.

The solid black color is flattering and the lower cut legs are great for a woman who is self conscious of the bikini bottom and needs good coverage there. The v-neck top and ruffle cross over is the key to this plus size swimsuits’ success. It’s great for slenderizing because it creates more volume on the top part of the body. That in turn creates a more balanced look and the woman does not look as bottom heavy as she is. The supportive top with solid straps for a larger chest are also good here.

I found this swimsuit at Macy’s. It’s out of their own collection called INC International Concepts. This bathing suit is called the plus size swimsuit, ruffle front solid one piece. You can find it online or at the local Macy’s but watch out because this one is often sold out. Very nice swimsuit.

Ask me to find a decent looking swimdress and I will say Ugh. Swimdresses are just so hard to find. Most look bizarre. Most look like you are seriously trying to hide something. Most look like you wonder what the heck you are wearing. Needless to say, a good swimdress is like finding a needle in a haystack. This Ujena swimdress, is the needle in the haystack. Found!

Babydoll inspired swimdress

This super slenderizing swimdress actually looks sexy! Leave it to Ujena USA to come up with a swim dress that is actually … sexy! One of the reasons this swimdress succeeds is that it looks like it isen’t a swimdress. It looks more like a babydoll inspired 2 piece swimsuit. I love this! The bottoms give plenty of coverage and the top looks like a little mini-dress being used as a cover up.

The sheer netted material adds the little peekaboo look to this Ujena suit. Even though it is see through, it can cover some figure flaws lurking beneath. If you are large but relatively in shape, this little babydoll swimdress could work out quite well.

This babydoll swimdress comes paired with a full coverage bottom. The advantage of the dress is that you can feel super comfortable at the pool or walking down the boardwalk window shopping. It looks like a sexy sundress or beach coverup. If you dress up this swimdress with some accessories you will look like you are ready for the Beverly Hills pool. If you are body self-conscious you can wear this with ease, and read a book under the warm sun without feeling isecure about your belly showing.

This swimdress would Work great for showing off maternity too! The possibilities are endless. This suit has crisscrossed straps in the back. The swimdress top is hip length with a sheer skirt and comfortable criss cross back straps. The matching bottom is fully lined with high waist and full coverage back. The material is Nylon/Lycra. I found this sexy and slenderizing black plus size swimsuit featured on the web site plus-size-mag. Love it! The swimsuit itself came from Yours Clothing in the UK. This was plus-size-mag’s trend of the day look. It’s a plus size black bandeau swimsuit and boy does this swimsuit flatter a plus size figure. It is so sexy, love, love it!

Classic black swimsuit

This swimsuit does look like the classic black one piece bathing suit, but it is far from boring. All black can look a bit dark and drag on a plus size woman because there is just so much dark fabric. This particular swimsuit however, is visually broken up by the fact that the neckline is bandeau. With all that skin showing and without the typical bulky shoulder straps, the overwhelming effect of the black is toned down.

Clean look for a plus size woman

I love the keyhole bust detail and the dainty tie halterneck. The keyhole is a bit hard to see in photograph but is there. The ring at center and the cute sweep of the neckline draws attention to the chest which is slimming. Eyes focus up on the chest, rather than down on the hips, thighs and buttocks. The solid color is slenderizing and it looks like this suit has full padding and a thicker material that supports and controls the bulge. She looks sexy, curvy, and voluptuous, not fat at all. Plus Size Mag recommends that you accessorize this with Jackie-O sunglasses and diamante flip-flops. A very good idea indeed.

10 Tips to a Beautiful Summer Body

To make yourself look slimmer try darker solid colors in the areas that need shape control. In addition, go for brighter colors in your most attractive areas to draw attention to those.
Try mix and match bottoms and tops because this lets you choose a top and bottom that fits the best to each of the top and the bottom. It also lets you get more or less coverage and support depending on where you need it.
For a larger chest look for styles that have a good support band and halter ties rather than spaghetti strap shoulder ties
Avoid all over flow prints and get prints that have solid colors in at least some of the print
