popular-swimsuits-2014

The annual 2014 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is now out on the newsstands!  Featuring 3 popular SI cover models on the front of the mag and a Kate Upton zero gravity shot on the back of the mag, this SI issue rocks the beauty and gives you glimpse of the most popular swimsuit styles for 2014.

SI Swimsuit trends – bigger thong style bikini bottoms

The SI 2014 swimsuit issue shows us that one fashion mainstay is still here but now with an updated twist to it. It’s the thong-style bikini, and it is still in vogue. However, this is not by any stretch the same skimpy string cut we remember in the past years. Instead, the newer bikini bottom thong-style has a decidedly bigger expanse of fabric to it, especially at the hips. More of the area is covered with these new styles.

The twist of the new thong-style bikini bottom is that it has just a peekaboo look to it where the bottom cheeks peek out, but otherwise the bikini bottom has relatively good coverage. It’s a cheeky peek-a-boo look, with a more covered bottom overall. I like it.

And of course, always in style is a big smile

Aside from the new sexy bikini bottom rear view styles, there is one swimsuit fashion statement that never goes out of style in swimwear – your smile! Here, an SI rookie gives a great smile while rocking a colorful bikini for SI mag. Of course, beachy hair styled naturally in long tousled waves and a protective sun hat add to the cool summer look. It’s Fabulous!

Check out SI for more cutting edge swimwear ideas. Their swimsuit issue of course is for the younger girl with a perfect bod, but nevertheless the issue always gives great ideas for color and styles that you could translate into a one-piece swimsuit or styles with more coverage. It also shows you who the hippest swimsuit designers are for the year, and gives you a glimpse of the most popular swimsuit styles.

Those swimwear designers and manufacturers whose swimsuits are featured in the SI magazine also make more conservative swimsuits you can shop for online and purchase, so it helps to know who is who in the world of swimsuit design. It’s always good to keep up with the trends and SI swimsuit issue always delivers!

pretty-swimsuits

Summer is that time of year that every girl always anticipates.  Warm sunshine, fun at the beach or resort pool, traveling, and toes in the sand.  This spicy swimsuit photograph is just inspiring and reflect the swimwear that was shown on the runways for 2013.  Every style from alluring cutouts, to retro inspiration, floral patterns, bold tribal accents,  funky patterns and strong block colors we have seen.  What do they all say?  That your personality is in!  You are in style.  You can be silly, fruity, funky and junky this summer!

Crazy glasses, retro styles from yesteryear, even mom jeans converted into high-waisted swimsuits have been hitting store fronts and boutiques.  I love this fun orange blast swimsuit shown in this photograph and sadly do not have the reference for this wonderful swimsuit.  To me this swimsuit reflects a summer burst of personality and carefree sunniness.  Love the glasses, the long hair, the zany jewelry and everything about this fruity-tooty look.

This pretty swimsuit should inspire you to embrace your personality and inner goddess. Let it shine through!  Don’t be afraid to get funky and out there with your sense of style.  Men love women who have effervescent personalities.  She is the quintessential “it” girl because she is bright, bubbly, and marching to the beat of her own drum.  If there was anything that was common ground in all the myriad of swimsuits styles this season, it was that they reflected not just a particular style, but rather a personality and spirit.

playful-swimsuit

I love this colorful swimsuit.  Though I do not have the purchase information on this particular two-piece, I will say that it demonstrates several summer Fashion D0’s.  This is a fun look that you have to love!

First of all this swimsuit is playful and colorful which exudes a zest for life spirit that is just infectious.  While this is clearly a wonderful model photograph, the swimsuit choice teaches us that a girl with a fun and original personality and sense of her own style reigns supreme.

Modest coverage bikinis are in, micro bikinis are out

Another thing that we can learn from this swimsuit is that the tiny micro bikini of the nineties is out of style.  A little bit more coverage like what this swimsuit offers just looks better.  Even when polled men said that the classic bikini with moderate coverage is the look they prefer.  It gives a hint of appeal while leaving everything to the imagination.  So when you buy that swimsuit just remember that it does not have to be a skimpy string bikini.  A supportive halter top and a wider banded bottom such as shown here, work just fine.  You can be covered a bit more and every bit as sexy.

Pink contrast adds a unique twist

Lastly, this swimsuit shows a great figure flattering trick which is to create a wow factor with a bright splash of contrasting color.  In this case the hot pink makes this swimsuit look unique.  If it were all black and white this swimsuit would look too much like a referee costume.  The pink however helps to tone it down and adds a unique touch to it.  If you have all stripes or polka dots (especially in black and white) it can be too overwhelming.  Working some solid feminine color into the look is more flattering.  What a fantastic photo of a gorgeous girl.  If I am able to find the “where to buy” information on this perfect bikini I will definitely re-post.  Such a fun look!
